Dear Yuletide author,

I do apologize for getting this up late. Where has the year gone? 

I am so excited for yuletide this year! This is my sixth year participating (see still-relevant letters from 2012 and 2013 and 2014 and 2015 and 2016 and 2017) and I am always impressed by the quality of work with these exchanges.

I'm Diaphenia on AO3.

Let’s talk about things I like and dislike, generally.

Love: Getting together stories. Tropes, especially for comedy fandoms (think road trips, broken elevators, anything that requires characters to spend time together). Ensemble fic, even more than shippy stuff (with an exception or two). Related, but found families are my thing, and most fandoms I read reflect that love. Spy AUs: a total bulletproof fandom kink. Banter. Flirting. Friends setting up friends. Hijinx. Groundhog's Day AUs. Soulmate AUs. 

DNW: Baby/pregnancy fic, or spending too much time with canon children. Major OCs— I nominate fandoms because I want to spend time with the characters I love. Kink fic, since I’m extraordinarily picky about kink!fic. Religion.  Incest. Rape/Non-con. Character-bashing. Gross-out humor. Miracles.

Additional details: I’m fine with sexytimes, as long as it’s not PWP. Or fading to black is totally cool too. Action scenes make my eyes glaze over. I love fusions. AUs of any and all types- send them to the moon! Panem! High school! I’m down.

The Good Place

Chidi, Eleanor

Listen, I love this show beyond the telling. Currently, I have like two shows I'm watching, and this is one. I think season one was the best; I have rewatched the first episodes and last episode about a billion times. I’m definitely nervous about them sticking this landing, so fingers crossed!

Note that I will be current on the show and may show up with more prompts, so feel free to include live canon if needed. 

I do ship them like whoa, but gen is also great. I love all the characters and would enjoy ensemble fic as well. If you don’t want to write them shippy, I’d prefer not to read about them shipped  with other people. Past Chidi/Simone is great, though, as I adore Simone, so flashback away on that. 

Prompts:

*Five times when Chidi/Eleanor told the other they loved them? Five times a well-timed kiss helped Eleanor realize they were in the Bad Place? Five times the Bad Place used sex pollen to mess with the cockroaches? Honestly this fandom is ripe for five times fics.

*That reboot where everyone is monks, but it’s sexy? I believe in you!

*Honestly any reboot, seen or otherwise, is probably going to be great.

*Chidi finds a way to speak French to Eleanor, and it’s hot!

*Soulmate AUs of every shape and size. Soulmates are real, and that’s a problem! Soulmates are fake, and that’s also a problem! Mundane AU in which they are also soulmates! They are soulmates in TGP but met before death and disliked each other!

*Eleanor is supposed to be the architect, but she keeps kissing Chidi anyway

*Any attempt at wrapping up the series that will be almost immediately incorrect, but still treasured by me

*Any canon AU from the series you meant to write and never did

Six - Marlow/Moss

Anne Boleyn

I saw a production of this in Chicago and was so impressed and moved in a way I never expected. I really enjoyed the show and would love to dive back in, canon or otherwise. There’s so much to explore there, in terms of characters or setting.

Feel free to include anyone from the show. I don’t really have any specific ships, other than Henry VIII/shutting up, so go shippy or gen. And I picked Anne because she’s my favorite historically, but if you have a better idea for someone else, go with that!  I have seen a lot of fanon that Anne is autistic, or otherwise on the spectrum, and I’d prefer not to include that in the story. 

Note: Tudor history is one of my favorite time periods. Feel free to use as much real history as possible if that is something you enjoy, but if you’re really only familiar with the musical, stick with that canon! There’s no wrong answer here. 

Prompts:

*Anne of Cleves takes the ladies back to her house for picnics and/or sex and/or gossip

*a piece exploring this nebulous world of the setting. Who are they performing for? Is this a punishment? A reward? Where do they live? What do they do when they aren’t on stage? This can get as light or as dark as makes sense to you. 

*afterlife AU. I know I said I’m not interested in religion in fic, but all these ladies are so intrinsically linked to their religion that I’m fine going there, if that’s something you’d enjoy. Who “won”? If you’d rather avoid their actual religions, which is totally fine, how do they slowly populate the afterlife as they die? Who aligns with whom? Are there other Tudor figures running around as well, or is it just for these six?

*AUs: Oceans 8 style heist? Dorm living? 

*Now that the ladies are enlightened and aware of how crappy their lives were, do they go back in time to try to fix their situations? How does that work, or not? Does Anne stay in France, marry young? Does she somehow end up married to Henry anyway?

*Anne goes to therapy to fix her relationship with her bandmates

*girlband adventures

*Anne, in fact, does want to be some girl in a threesome. 

*Anne is actually a six-fingered witch and this was all her misguided attempt at revenge. 

Superstore

Amy, Jonah

I have loved this show from the overnight episode in the first season. The entire ensemble is a delight, but these two stick out to me. Their sexual tension was really well done, and I pined for seasons. SEASONS. The unexpected pregnancy made me rageful, and you know what? I’d prefer to pretend it never happened, because what a character choice that didn’t really make sense for the character. Other than that, I have enjoyed the entire show, with a preference for those earlier seasons when they weren’t together and the tension was *chef’s kiss.* That said, if you want to do something that’s more gen or ensemble focused, I’m into that too. Also, I love the goofy humor, but this show can also get a little angsty, so lean in to that if you want!

Feel free to add any characters from the show. Adam is a delightful disaster, and Kelly (as well as Jonah’s other exes) is also great if not meant to be with Jonah. I do love the ensemble and would be just as happy with some wacky adventures as not. I also really enjoy Jeff (he’s such a weasel). That said, my general lack of interest in children extends to both of Amy’s kids, so keep them off-screen for the most part. 

Note: I feel like this fandom is ripe for AUs, so go wild, as long as they are ultimately doing the sort of menial work that separates this show from, oh, almost any other show.

I will be current on the show, potentially throwing out more prompts if something strikes me, so incorporate whatever current canon includes.

*Amy calling Jonah out for not doing more with his education and staying at the store (for her?)

Hello creator!

The Trick or Treat exchange has been a joy for years, and I’m thrilled to be back. I’ve participated several times in these exchanges and this is super low-key and fun, fantastic to prepare for Yuletide. I’m throwing prompts up for tricks or treats, but feel free to ignore the holiday if you’d rather write some canon or AU or something trope-y-- send them on a roadtrip, lock them in a closet, throw them in a elevator. I tend to ship canon but also adore gen. Focus on one or two characters or send everyone to a party. Have fun, do something weird (if you want!) and I’m going to love whatever you post. This can be your opportunity to experiment.  All of these are for fic or art. Also, these are mostly open canons, so don’t worry if you get canon-balled mid-season.
